After three years in development and a huge amount of work from the CCL team, we’re delighted to announce that our Greener Routes carbon tracking solution has been accredited by Smart Freight Centre (SFC) in line with the GLEC Framework.
This approval provides confirmation that the methodology we’ve developed to calculate the CO2e of supply chain movements is in accordance with this framework.
This gives the assurance that Greener Routes can reliably calculate and report the Scope 3 GHG emissions associated with freight transportation and logistics when order data is entered into myCCL TMS.
GREENER ROUTES
Solving big data challenges, Greener Routes’ integrated carbon tracker breaks down multimodal journeys into thousands of data points that enable the calculation of transportation and distribution emissions for your end-to-end supply chain.
These vital Scope 3 measurements help you understand the full extent of your company’s carbon footprint – for both reporting and offsetting purposes.
WHAT IS SMART FREIGHT CENTRE?
Smart Freight Centre (SFC) was established in 2013 as a global non-profit organisation with the goal of making the global freight sector more efficient and environmentally sustainable.
WHAT IS GLEC?
Set up by Smart Freight Centre, the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) is a programme that harmonises the calculation and reporting of logistics GHG emissions.
It was the first globally recognised methodology for calculation and reporting across the multimodal supply chain and is in alignment with major bodies such as the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, UN Global Green Freight Action Plan and CDP reporting.
WHAT ACCREDITATION MEANS
Smart Freight Centre assessed Greener Routes against its technical specification and checklist to ensure that it matches the principles and data structure of the GLEC Framework, to ensure it calculates and reports logistics GHG emissions against the industry standard.
